You are right; the same dynamics exist in white-trash trailer parks, just like they do in the slums of Panama City, Manila, Russia, and all the other countries where I have spent time. Poverty and societal issues don't discriminate based on color. It's a human problem.

I'm unclear on what you mean by "You white people..." If you are implying that my learning about my own racial biases and documenting my growth is racist, then I don't know what to say. Isn't that what we are supposed to do to eliminate racism?
