"They" or "the church" is a formidable beast to nail down, sort of like the Illuminati or globalists. The church beast is so complex, and there is extraordinary infighting among the internal factions.

I think if we were to add a definition to this beast, it might be something like this: "A self-preservationist religious organization that puts its survival and agenda above those of its follower's wellbeing." It's the complete opposite of what Jesus's message was.

While the economic and political power of the Catholic Church stands alone in its breadth of influence through historical Christiandom, the protestant church is not far behind. This power and control spill into other non-biblical religions as well, like the Christian Scientists, Mormons, etc.

You make a good point, but I'm not sure there is a unified conspiracy between these factions. It's more like a massive delusion towards an end-game where all cultural and religious participants are pulled like magnets towards it.
