In my very first Medium article, I talked about the Christian "box" and how it limits God. What I said was this:
"To start, I'm not fond of putting definitions, labels, and phrases inside boxes. But, more on point, I don't like the unintended results of turning off our brains.
For example, take the term "deconstructing Christianity." When a concept becomes defined by an authoritative voice, the reader builds a box around that definition, which obstructs their ability to explore the idea further."
God became so much bigger and more awe-inspiring when I let go of trying to fit him into a theological box. He also began to speak into my life from surprising places. I'm convinced God has a sense of humor and irony.
