I might spin that around. We love so we can live. Love is the genetic bond we are wired with that allows us to survive and live well and with purpose. If God did not program us that way, we could not possibly survive as a species. We need each other in marriage, family, and as a society. Love is what allows those bonds. And as you say, love gives life meaning that ultimately hints at God's existence.
