Exactly. Cultural bias is unavoidable. It's also neither good nor bad. We all live within a cultural perspective. It becomes bad when we are unaware of it and unknowingly influenced by it. It's worse when those biases are taught in schools and churches as truth and used to manipulate the greater group, even if it's unintentional. The most responsible way to interpret truth or the Bible is to study it fully aware of our biases, just like you say.

Naivity may fool me once. Ignorance is me choosing to be stupid over and over. 80% of us choose the latter.
