Biblical inerrancy isn't one of the essential Christian doctrines although the evangelical church has made it seem so. Is it divinely inspired, yes. Is it inerrant in every detail? Who knows. I'm not sure it matters as much as we think it does.

Consider, even if the Bible is the literal, inerrant, divinely inspired word of God, perfect in all its ways, name one person with a perfect interpretation of all that perfection. I haven't met anyone yet.

In that sense, I'm not sure an inerrant Bible is the hill we should die on.
