All fair questions. And I’m not going to try to justify anything. But I will point out the fallacy of trying to judge ancient times through the lens of today. My mom used to drive me and my sister around without car seats when we were kids back in the early 70s. Today she would be arrested for child endangerment and we’d be in foster care. So was she a neglectful horrible mom? Of course not. Laws and culture we different back then. I think the majority of the Bible stories fit into that category. Again I don’t hold to an inerrant Bible position.
